Harry "Willie" Wilson Hepner

Harry "Willie” Wilson Hepner, 94, of Traverse City passed away December 2, 2020 at Munson Medical Center. Willie was born on June 3, 1926 in Milford to the late Harry Samuel and Katie Rose (Wisman) Hepner. Willie served our country honorably as a member of the United States Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. On February 24, 1951 Willie married the love of his life, Elizabeth Bishop in Tecumseh. Together they have celebrated 68 years of marriage. Willie graduated from Alma College in 1951. He then went on this pursue a career in the automotive industry where he served in the engineering department for 37 years with Chevrolet. Willie was an avid fisherman. As a young man he played many sports and in more recent years he loved to watch sports. He also liked to camp. Willie was quite the character who lived life to the fullest. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers Louis and Samuel. Harry is survived by his wife Elizabeth; sons Mark (Diane), Paul (Debbie) and Bruce (Deborah); grandchildren Kevin, Jessica, Zak, Walker and Annie; three great grandchildren; and half brother Myron (Donna) Hepner. Per Willie’s wishes he will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society.
