Beulah - James "Jim" Alan Sheffield, 78, of Beulah passed away June 4, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

Jim was born on December 12, 1939 in Grand Haven to the late Ralph and Kathern (Beekman) Sheffield.

On January 27, 1962 Jim married the love of his life, Sue Sheffield.

In 1983 Jim and Sue became the owners and operators of Lone Pine Party Store in Honor. He was proud to be a sixth generation grocer, with his family history in the business dating back to 1904 in Allendale.

Jim and Sue were charter members of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. They helped to build it in 1995.

Jim will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, his passion for the store and for being the son of a butcher.

Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue; son Bryan (Laura) of Honor; grandchildren Paul (Olivia), Jason (Emmily) and Erica; great grandchildren Emmalee, Aydin, Amber, Fae, Jameson and Jason; and siblings Raymond (Evelyn) and Dorothy (Carl) Westerhof.

Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Howard and Harold and sister Marion.

The memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at noon.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the church or feel free to bring a non-perishable grocery item and all items collected will be donated to the Benzie Area Christian Neighbors in his honor.
