Joan Catherine Vazquez, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully on her 81st birthday, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Munson Medical Center. Joan was born on August 31, 1940 in Detroit to the late Charles and Catherine (Szukielowicz) Rogers.

Joan had been employed with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union. She worked as a Kitchen Assistant in the UAW Café', retiring in 1992. She enjoyed watching the Christian Worship Hour. Joan loved animals, especially her dogs, she had many pets over the years. She was wonderful in the kitchen, both cooking and baking. Above all, family was the most important thing to Joan, spending time with family was her greatest joy.

Joan is survived by three daughters; Marianne (Daniel) Rendon, Donna (Matthew) Montgomery and Mariam (Jacob Kearns) Crowley. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Allison Montgomery, a sister, Carol Spaeth and a brother, Raymond Rish as well as many nieces, nephews and her faithful dogs.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Butch, Tony and Jerry.

In accordance with Joan's wishes cremation has taken place.
