John C. Williams

June 7, 1960 - October 23, 2021

John Christopher Williams, 61 of Traverse City, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. John was born on June 7, 1960 in Detroit to the late Philip and Mary (Huthmacher) Williams. John had been employed with Munson Medical center for over 15 years. He was also a dealer with Leelanau Sands Casino, for over 13 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a fan of both the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He was always up for a drive, especially through Leelanau County. He loved his family’s annual birthday camping trips and enjoyed playing backgammon. John is survived by his wife, Luci and two daughters; Bryanna Williams and Michaela LaBonte. Also surviving are two sisters; Kathy (Glenn) Stein and Julie (Dan) Rahe as well as a father-in-law, Michael Girard. He was preceded in death by a son; Josiah LaBonte and two brothers; Philip Williams and Ted Williams. Friends are welcome to visit with John’s family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. A procession to Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens and a graveside Committal Service will follow.
