Dr. Kim Donald Wright of Lake Ann, Michigan, formerly of Flushing, age 68, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his Lake Ann home with his loving wife.

Kim was born to Donald and Lucille (Schutt) Wright in Midland, Michigan on April 3, 1954.

Kim grew up in Midland and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University before graduating from the University of Michigan with his DDS. He then opened a private practice in Flushing in 1983.

In 1987, Kim married his soulmate, Colleen Wheaton and they remained in Flushing, raising their daughters, before selling the practice and moving their family to Lake Ann in 2003. Until his retirement in 2020, he was a practicing partner at Access Dental Group in Traverse City.

Kim was a loving husband, wonderful father, and proud grandfather. He was a man of great dedication— failure was never an option. He always enjoyed a challenge and could fix anything thing that needed to be. Kim loved the great outdoors, and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. When he could he loved traveling with family to Costa Rica— his happy place.

Kim leaves behind his beloved wife of thirty-five years, Colleen M. Wright; his daughters Crystal (Matthew) Fetzner, Alexis Wright, and Brianna Wright; grandchildren Riley and Keira Fetzner; canine companions Maggie and Morgan; many dear friends and other beloved members of the family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Robert Wright.

The funeral service for Kim will be celebrated by Pastor Collin Towersey at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
