Lawrence "Larry" Flynn

July 10, 1961 - April 6, 2022

Lawrence “Larry” Flynn, 60, of Traverse City passed away April 6, 2022, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side, leaving an amazing legacy. Larry was born in Frankfort Michigan to Lawrence H. Flynn and Sandra (Magee) Bratschi on July 10, 1961. Larry graduated from Northwood Institute with a degree in accounting. He was an entrepreneur from the start, owning his own accounting firm Bay Business Services, and then becoming a full partner in Centennial Wealth Advisory, and many other ventures along the way. He was a man who had many irons in the fire. The clients & colleagues he had over the years, he warmly referred to simply as his friends. He loved his work, he loved serving people and making their lives better or easier in whatever way he could. He loved running, softball, ping pong, cornhole, golf(usually) fantasy football and anything else that involved friendly competition, mostly he loved to win. One of Larry’s favorite quotes was “All men with honor are kings but not all kings have honor. Honor is what no man can give you, and none can take away. Honor is a man’s gift to himself.” Larry lived his life legacy minded, and always with the end in mind. It mattered to love people well, and those who have been loved by him knew this. He was a good King. He will be missed deeply. “Cancer stole its share of things from him, but it couldn’t touch his spirit which stayed as true as ever right to the end.” Larry is survived and missed by his adoring wife Christine, their three sons Brett (Nicole) of Kalkaska, Ben (Alesha) and Garry (Fiancé Keen) of Traverse City. Four Beautiful grandchildren, Saige, Ezra, Lilia and Josalyn. Also surviving are, his Father Lawrence H. Flynn and Stepmother Cindie, his two sisters Patty (Randy Wierda) Flynn of Saginaw, and Tammy Sundberg of Grand Rapids, a half-brother Steven Bratschi of Traverse City and two stepsisters Nikie (Joel) Sanderson of Saudi Arabia and Megan (Eric) Campbell of Traverse City. Along with many Aunts and Uncles and his Grandmother Leah Flynn of Traverse City, and many, many loved nieces and nephews. And of course, his loving pup “Carl”. Visitation will take place Sunday April 10, 2022 from 3-5pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A Funeral service will take place Monday April 11, 2022 at 11:00am at Faith Reformed Church with a luncheon following, Pastor Scott Bills will officiate. Those wishing an expression of sympathy may wish to contribute to Christ’s Hope in Larry’s honor. Please visit www.reynolds-johkhoff.com to share your memories with the family.
