Marinan Ellen Bradford, 85, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on July 22, 2021 in her home at Traverse Manor. Marinan was born on September 20, 1935 in Manistee to the late Floyd and Eleanor (Peterson) Brandt. She was the eldest of four children. Marinan graduated from Onekama High School. Several years later, once settled in Traverse City, she earned her LPN from NMC. On June 25, 1954 she was married in Baltimore, Maryland to Lyle Bradford. Lyle was then deployed to Japan where he served in Army Intelligence. Together they moved around the U.S. and shared 60 years before he passed in 2014. Marinan and Lyle were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. When she wasn’t working at Osteopathic Hospital as a nurse they liked to travel, camp and canoe. Marinan liked to keep her hands busy knitting, crocheting, embroidering and gardening. She also became an avid reader. Marinan was preceded in death by her parents. Husband and sister Phyllis Milliman. Marinan is survived by her daughters Julie (Thomas) Cole and Sheri Bradford; grandchildren Nathaniel Cole and Mariah (Christoper) Kyro; and siblings; Audrey Brown and Floyd “Jim” (Susie) Brandt. The memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm.
