It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true legend in the world of entertainment and broadcasting, Mark Staycer who left us December 30, 2023. He was 68 years old and passed peacefully at home in his sleep.
Born on January 16, 1955, to Vera Mary and Michael E Styzer of East Detroit, Mark was a man of extraordinary talent and charisma, captivating audiences far and wide with his remarkable tribute performances as a John Lennon impersonator and his dynamic presence as a radio personality.
Mark's journey as a John Lennon tribute artist began at an early age when he fell in love with the music of The Beatles. His uncanny ability to channel the spirit and essence of the legendary musician was nothing short of remarkable. Whether it was performing in local clubs, festivals or on the ballroom grand stages of cruise ships, Mark brought John Lennon back to life through his incredible voice, his spot-on mannerisms, and his authentic stage presence. He is survived by his loving son, Christian Michael Staycer. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mark will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on 6th Street in Traverse City and will be streamed live on Reynolds Jonkhoff web page.
