MaryBeth Martin

April 10, 1950 - March 21, 2022

Buckley – MaryBeth Martin, age 71 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2022 at Munson Hospital in Traverse City, Michigan. MaryBeth was the only daughter of George and Beth Martin of Illinois and she was born on April 10, 1950. MaryBeth LOVED music, reading and kayaking. She spent hours in her attic singing with a good friend and meeting with others singing and jamming on the piano, guitar or violin. She attended college and later went into seminary and became a minister. She was an artist, photographer, singer, an accomplished pianist, guitarist and violinist. She and her father built her home together. She learned other traits over the years. Carpentry, she could weld, paint cars, repair vehicles and enjoyed riding around in her sports car with the top down and driving her motorcycles. There wasn’t anything MaryBeth couldn’t do and wasn’t afraid of trying something new. MaryBeth leaves behind one brother, James (Susan) Martin and their children and a sister-in-law, Patricia Martin and her children, Tom Jones her boyfriend and many friends from all over the United States. She was met in heaven by her parents, George and Beth Martin and her older brother, Stephen Martin. A memorial service will be held at 11am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684 on Saturday April 2, 2022. Pastor Chris Lane will serve as officiant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Interlochen Center for the Arts for scholarships for the youth.
