Maxine Diller died peacefully on April 20, 2024 at age 94, in her home, surrounded by her husband Paul and four sons. Maxine Mae Frey was born on September 26th, 1929 in Archbold, Ohio to Mattie and Rev. P.L. Frey, as one of five daughters.
She was a lifelong learner devoted to her career as a public school teacher. She earned undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees from Goshen College and Siena Heights University.
She met her husband Paul Diller in college and they were married in 1952 - - being married for over 71 years. She is survived by her husband Paul, four sons Phillip (Lynn), Jonathon (Cindy), Samuel (Victoria) and David (Laurel), seven grandchildren, Clayton, Allison, Jacob, Maxwell, Simon, Bruno and Franco, and six great-grandchildren, Blake, Ruby, Eden, Ian, Louis, and Charlotte.
The Frey family, which continues to be extremely close with frequent gatherings, has a family reunion planned for May of 2024 in Onekama, MI., at which time a memorial celebration will be held. Other memorial services may be planned at a later date.
