TRAVERSE CITY — Mikhail P. (Terzeman) Cherkasov, 90, of Traverse City, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Mikhail was born on Sept. 1, 1921, in Odessa, Ukraine, to the late Peter Terzeman and Ksenya Zagorueko Terzeman. He married Polina Grebyenuk on Sept. 19, 1955. He served as a pilot in World War II. After the war he became a welder. He was a great mathematician and was very knowledgeable. Gardening and bee keeping were a few of his favorite hobbies. He will be remembered as an active person and good communicator. Surviving Mikhail are his wife; children, Ludmila Terzeman, Vladislav Terzeman and Theodore (Tatyana) Cherkasov; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
