The day after their 75th wedding anniversary, the love of her life, Raymond, came to take her home. Muriel Jacques passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2020.
She was born June 28, 1926 in Flint to Harold and Margery Tomas. On Dec. 7, 1945 Muriel and Raymond Jacques were united in marriage. They moved to Walled Lake, where they raised their five children. During that time she worked at Walled Lake Medical Center. The couple retired in 1980 and moved to their cabin on Mickey Lake.
After Ray passed in 1988 Muriel sold the beloved lake house. Muriel was active with Munson Volunteers and loved her work in the ICU for over 27 years. Family came first for Muriel. She was supportive of her kids and grandkids; attending every event they were involved in. She may have been small in stature but was a giant in strength. She was a kind, caring, giving soul and will be missed by all who knew her.
Muriel leaves behind her children Daryl Jacques, Susan Kott, Cathy (John) Beehler, Dave (Becky) Jacques and Dan (Cindy) Jacques; brother Richard Thomas; grandchildren Jason Kott, Brian Kott, Jacob (Samantha) Bennett, Melissa Jacques and Samantha (Brandon) Tarabek; 7 great-grandchildren; extended family of 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; sister Vera; sisters-in-law Kay and Nancy; brother-in-law Herb and grandson Jeremy.
A celebration of Muriel's life will take place Monday, September 13, 2021, 11:30AM, at Central United Methodist Church, Traverse City.
