Myrna Michele Adkins, 56, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023 at the Villa at Traverse Point after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy Parkinsonian. Throughout her life and even after her illness progressed, she was always a ray of light and inspiration to all she met.

Myrna was born on December 30, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas to Roger Lee Adkins and Barbara Kay (Weber) Adkins.

Myrna graduated from Traverse City High School in 1985. She then attended CMU and later took classes online. Myrna had a heart that loved to serve and care for others. She loved her jobs in the hospitality industry at the Grand Hotel and Mission Point on Mackinaw Island and at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. She also enjoyed her position at Comfort Keepers where she helped care for others. In her younger years, she also worked for Meijer where she held many titles including trainer for their new employees. Regardless of her role or title, Myrna excelled and made friends wherever she went.

Myrna was a beloved member of Creekside Community Church. She enjoyed singing in the praise band and at special events. It was the youth however, that she really enjoyed helping. She impacted countless kids with her positivity and compassion.

Myrna was preceded in death by her father Roger and a sister who passed at birth whose name was Jennifer.

Myrna is survived by her mom Barbara, Aunt Kathryn Weber, Aunt Rose Stamp, Aunt Nancy Blank; several cousins and many friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:30 at Creekside Community Church.
