February 19, 1940 - May 8, 2022
NANCY DEANE (McGREGOR) KETKO Beloved wife, sister, mother, and Grandmother Nancy Deane Ketko, 82, entered into the presence of the Lord on Mother’s Day, May 8th, 2022, saying goodbye to her earthly family and rejoicing with the Lord Jesus and her heavenly family. Daughter Laura was present at her bedside when her spirit left peacefully for her final journey. At 17 and a senior in high school, Nancy had won three beauty contests, was an accomplished professional fashion model doing television programs and interviews on radio (The precursor to today’s talk shows). She narrated at the Detroit International Auto Show and found time to study voice at the Detroit Conservatory of Music. Nancy met her forever love, Ron Ketko and they courted for two years while she continued her fashion modeling, voice lessons and teaching visual poise to young high school girls. Nancy was engaged to Ron on Christmas Eve 1958 and on April 25th, 1959, they were married in Sacramento, California. Ron and Nancy celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary just before her passing. Nancy's three children, Lance Ketko (Sharon), Scott Ketko (Leslie) and Laura Kwapis (Scott) presented her with four grandchildren, Devin Ketko, Annah Ketko, Brecken Ketko and Joey Kwapis. Nancy's creative and artistic talents extended to music where she helped form a woman's church singing group called The 5th Season (Season of the Heart), gourmet cooking on holidays for friends and family, masterful gardening and was president of the Franklin Village Garden club. Additional gifts and interests included sewing, interior decorating, and a voracious reader of ancient and medieval history. When the children were in school full time, Nancy continued with her education at Madonna College in Livonia, Michigan studying the humanities and human behavior development receiving an associate degree. Nancy's faith in the Lord Jesus was paramount from an incredibly early age. This strong faith continued into adulthood, and she conducted Bible Studies in her home. These weekly bible studies grew in number which required them to divide into several groups. Her testimony of life is revered in the many talents and giving of her heart felt love. Nancy, you are sorely missed by many. ~Service Details~ Visitation will take place from 2:30p-4:00p at the First Congregational Church.
