Nancy Kay Patterson

July 14, 1956 - January 19, 2022

Nancy Kay Patterson, 65, of Traverse City, passed away surrounded by her daughters, Darlene and Jennifer, and brother, Don, on Jan. 19, 2022 at Munson Medical Center. Nancy was born on July 14, 1956 in Spencer, West Virginia to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Send) Keeder and was later fostered by Marion and Walter Tieber of East Jordan, Michigan. Nancy lived most of her life in Northern Michigan and was a beloved friend to many as well as colleague to those at United Technologies/Lear Corporation and Munson Medical Center. Nancy’s greatest joy were her grandchildren, Madelynn (Maddie) Patterson and Lilliana (Lilly) Dahlman, she was lovingly called Grandma and Mimi; there was never a conversation that she didn’t boast or show pictures of them. She enjoyed getting her nails done, floral print anything, playing cards and traveling with her partner, Russell Steinhoff, and friends, family gatherings, rock hunting and her time with her grandchildren. Her longstanding friendship with her WWFH ladies also gave her joy and support when she needed it most. She was very loving with the best heart, sweet and gave the best hugs, never failing to leave you without giving you one. She was preceded in death by her biological parents and foster parents; brothers, David Keeder and Daniel Keeder; sister-in-law, Marian Keeder; brother-in-law, Kim Patterson; and mother-in-law, Bobbie Jean Patterson. Nancy is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jahn Fraser) of Kalkaska; Darlene (Gordy) Dahlman of South Boardman; grandchildren Maddie Patterson and Lilly Dahlman; partner Russell Steinhoff of East Jordan; ex-husband Patrick Patterson of Kalkaska; brothers, Jack Keeder, Don Keeder, Walter (Angie) Tieber, and John (Jen) Tieber; sisters Mary (Ronald) Eaton; Anne (Mike) Finley, Faith Tieber, and Lucy Mcguire; sister-in-law, Yvonne Patterson; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service honoring Nancy will take place on her birthday, July 16, 2022, starting at 1:00 p.m. with a time for sharing at 2:00 p.m. at 2221 Bass Lake Rd., South Boardman, Michigan 49680. Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to Project Feed The Kids located in Traverse City.
