Polly Aramenta Martin

Polly Aramenta (Bump) Martin, 91, of Williamsburg, formerly of Howell, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 11, 2021. Polly was born on August 31, 1927 in Tampa, Florida. She married the love of her life, George Martin on April 7, 1951 in Howell. She was the last member of her family, whom were descendants of President James Madison on her mother’s side and the Odawa Indians on her father’s side. Polly graduated from high school in 1945. She spent the next year in Washington D.C. working for the government at the Pentagon, returning home in 1946. In 1947, Polly started her 37-year career with Michigan Bell, retiring in 1984. With George also retired from Ford Motor Company, they decided to “move north” to Traverse City, to enjoy his favorite sport of fishing! They both, especially enjoyed ice fishing. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gideon and James Bump. Polly is survived by a special friend and caregiver, Rob Rodenroth. In accordance with Polly’s wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Howell.
