Robby Lee Bumgardner of Interlochen passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 31st at the age of 54-after a courageous battle with cancer. Rob was many things: A loving husband and devoted father, a brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a hard worker and expert craftsman/carpenter, and above all - he was unapologetic-ally Rob.

Rob was born on October 12th in Traverse City to Robert and Janet (Zue) Bumgardner. Rob met the love of his life Mary Lou at the tender age of 16. Married 34 years they built a life to be proud of-raising three amazing boys and making countless memories on their many family vacations.

Rob enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking in "Rob's Cooking Shack", sitting around the bonfire with family and friends, building things with his hands and his faithful companion Molson.

Rob will be incredibly missed by those surviving him-his beautiful wife Mary Lou, the pride of his life - his sons Robert (Morgan), Travis (Katelyn), Jordan (Kyra), his beloved grandchildren Jacob, Caleb, Porter Lou and baby girl to be, his loving sisters Shelly (Roger) and Amy (John), his father Bob, his in laws Bill, Vonnie, and Leslie, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many friends through the years. He was preceded in death by his Mother Janet and Mother-In-Law Martie.

Visitation will take place Tuesday January 4, 2022 from 2-3pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. a Celebration of Life will take place at 3:00pm also at the funeral home.
