Robert "Bob" Lee Digue

Robert “Bob” Digue, 74, of Traverse City passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Bob suffered a stroke four years ago and had COPD, he fought very courageously to the end. Bob was born on December 7, 1945 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Joseph and Jean (Radcliffe) Digue. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane “Dee” Varga on March 21, 1968 in Detroit. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam with NMCB-58 from 1966-1968. Bob was employed as a sheet metal journeyman for 35 years, working all over the state. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking rides in the woods. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dee, a son Douglas (Sheryl) Digue and a daughter, Wendy (Larry) Boyle. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Samantha (Nino Tannahill) Digue, Kaitlyn (Bailey) Rumschlag, Connor Boyle, Quinn Boyle, Cooper Boyle, and Casey Boyle, as well as a brother, Dave (Bobbie) Digue and a sister-in-law, Ellen Digue. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Digue. In accordance with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to the Silver Muzzle Cottage, 3785 Rice Rd NW, Rapid City, MI 49676 or the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Rd, Traverse City, MI 49696.
