Petty officer second class Russell Aaron Cavanaugh, age 53, passed away September 20th, 2020. A graveside service will be held in Augusta, Michigan, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 11:00 AM on September 25th, 2020 for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Roderick Cavanaugh; mother Donna Cavanaugh; brother Roderick Cavanaugh, and many brothers in arms.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Amanda Cavanaugh; sons Cody and Jon Cavanaugh (Cassidy) and Brandon (Sarah) Martin; siblings Jane Thompson, John Henry Cavanaugh, Charlie Cavanaugh and Robert Cavanaugh; grandchildren Delilah Cavanaugh, Gracie Martin, and Quentin Tippens; 7 nieces and nephews, and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Every decision and action he made throughout his entire life was in service to his wife and sons, his family and his country, for the glory of God. May the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance towards you. And bring you peace.
