Sam Collinsworth, 68, of Interlochen passed away December 23, 2021 at his home.

Sam was born on November 8, 1953 in Highland Park to the late Floyd Irey and Rosemary (Moore) Collinsworth.

On July 17, 1992, Sam married Cynthia Gail Caperton in Plymouth.

He had been employed with Stevenson High School in Livonia for over 30 years.

Sam enjoyed hunting, dining out and spending time with his family.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Cynthia; children Melanie Collinsworth, Brooke Collinsworth, Nicholas Collinsworth, Andrea Ashley and Jennifer Ashley; grandchildren Aaron Collinsworth, Aiden Greene, Samantha Fraley, Nathan Kates, Benjamin Collinsworth, Skyler Belanger, Ivy Belanger and Abby Goraj

Per Sam's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate his life at a later date.

He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
