Sherrie Lynn Bjoraker

September 28, 1958 - April 9, 2022

Sherrie L. Bjoraker of Traverse City, age 63, passed away on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. She was born to Kenneth and Marilyn Shultz on September 28, 1958, in Lapeer, MI. Sherrie and her brother Ken grew up in their home on Daley Road just outside Lapeer. She graduated in 1976 from Lapeer West High School. She continued her education at Michigan State University where she met her future husband Danny Bjoraker in June 1979. She graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1980. After some time in Kalamazoo, MI, Cincinnati, OH, and La Crosse, WI, Sherrie moved to St. Paul, MN and started her ten year career as a Placement Coordinator at Dobbs Temporary Services where she met and worked with many wonderful people. Sherrie and Danny were married in Lapeer on April 20, 1985. They moved to Traverse City in late 1994 to be closer to family. In 1999, Sherrie and Danny traveled to Russia where they adopted their two children, twin siblings Alexander and Anna. Sherrie loved being a mom and was very good at it. Sherrie enjoyed being outdoors in Traverse and participated in hiking, cycling, and cross country skiing. Sherrie made many friends through scrapbooking, participating in her children's school activities and attending Trinity Lutheran Church. Sherrie is survived by her beloved husband of thirty-seven years Danny Joseph Bjoraker; loving children Alexander David Bjoraker and Anna Katherine Bjoraker; and brother Kenneth Schultz. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Marilyn Schultz. A memorial service will be celebrated by Pastor Michael Goers at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, you are cordially invited to join the family for a time for fellowship, food, and refreshments at the church. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Trinity Lutheran Church and School; or to help the citizens of Ukraine in their time of need.
