Shirley Katherine Miller

October 28, 1931 - November 18, 2020

Traverse City- Shirley Katherine Miller, 89, of Old Mission Peninsula, died suddenly of Covid 19 at her home on November 18, 2020. She was born on October 28, 1931 in Baltimore Maryland to the late John and Adley (Morin) Cosgrove. Shirley graduated from Lansing Everett High School and Mercy School of Nursing. She loved living at her farm on the Old Mission Peninsula where she enjoyed the beauty of the Peninsula and West Bay. She was a devoted member of the Old Mission Women’s Club and a die hard Detroit Tigers Baseball Fan. She especially loved her children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, friends and many loyal pets. She is survived by her children, Kathy Miller of Hamburg, Sherry Miller of Hamburg, and Bill (Nancy) Miller of Milford; grandchildren, William (Stephanie), Lauren (James), Dana (Jordan), Rachel, Jessica, Emily, Tayia, Jadin; great granddaughter Rowan Jane, special friend Bruce Cranson, beloved dog Gracie and many extended family and many dear friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband “Bill,” her brothers John and James Cosgrove and her very best friend Maryjane Schuster. Funeral Services will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Due to Covid19 precautions please tune into www.rjfh.tv to watch the service. Burial will take place at the Ogdensburg Cemetery on Old Mission Peninsula at a later time. In remembrance of Shirley, memorials may be directed to Cherryland Humane Society or Father Fred Foundation.
