Shirley Joyce Wick, 92, of Alden, Michigan passed away at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City, Michigan, April 3, 2020.
Born December 26, 1927, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Cecil E. Mason and Mabel (Smith) Mason. Shirley graduated from Cooley High School. On September 26, 1947 she married John Kenneth Wick at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
A former resident of Redford Township and Plymouth, Shirley moved to Alden on Torch Lake in 1985. She enjoyed sewing, knitting,cooking, reading, crosswords, and family visits at the lake.
She lived at the lake after John's passing in 1994 then in August, 2016 she went into Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was very comfortable and content. Family visits to the nursing home were happy times for her.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Larry K. (Kathleen) Wick of Brighton and Gary J. (Linda) Wick of Traverse City. Also, four grandchildren, David, Debra (Lambrix), Laura (Perry) and Gerald and six great grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin, Grady, Mayson, Olan and Levi.
Shirley will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia next to John.
