Warren Arthur Wheelock

June 2, 1937 - November 24, 2021

Mr. Warren Arthur Wheelock of Traverse City, Michigan, age 84, passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center with his love, Kay and his children by his side. Warren was born to Arthur and Beatrice (McDermott) Wheelock on June 2, 1937, in Traverse City, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. As a young man, he proudly and courageously serviced his flag and country in the United States Marine Corps. He was extremely fond of his time coaching Little League with the American Legion and of the memories created with those young men over the years. Warren had also passion for his Honda Gold Wing— he travelled all over the county until he could no longer enjoy the wind in his hair. He was an avid sports fan and was eternally loyal to every Detroit team, no matter how good or bad they were doing. In his younger years he loved bowling, and was pretty good at it too. Warren is survived by the love of his life, Kay; daughter Shellie (Robert) Kolarik; sons Daniel, Scott (Kelley), and Steven (Edie Cox) Wheelock; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother Donald (Jean) Wheelock. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Pat Schumskey; and brother Howard Wheelock. Relatives and friends may call on the family during a memorial gathering from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684.
