TRAVERSE CITY — Ada Dorothy M. Petersen Russell, 89, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Tendercare surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Ada is survived by her children, Harry (Pat Webb) Petersen, Jack (Deby) Petersen, Craig Petersen and Pete (Diane) Petersen; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harry Petersen; second husband, Harry Russell; granddaughter, Margaret Petersen; and two sisters, Leona Sladek and Geneva Burick.
Visitation will be held for Ada today, May 6, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, at 11 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
