Adelene Louise Leman

Adelene Louise Leman, 97, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. Adelene was born on August 12, 1916 in Abelman, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Ida (Groenke) Schneider. On December 14, 1934 she married Paul J. Leman in Sturgis, South Dakota. Adelene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She delighted in car trips out west to the Black Hills of South Dakota where she was married, to her hometown in Wisconsin and in beautiful rural Leelanau & Grand Traverse Counties. However, her greatest joy was supporting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adelene is survived by a son, Warren K. Leman of Traverse City, grandchildren; Alan (Beth) Leman of Traverse City, Pam (Paul) Bershon of Blair, NE and Paul (Heather) Leman of Lake Ann, seven great-grandchildren; Christopher (Angela) Leman, Jordan (Carly Allore) Leman, Brianna, Joshua, & Jessica Bershon, Benjamin and Katherine Leman; also a great-great-granddaughter, Emma Howell-Leman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and her daughter-in-law Dorothy J. Leman. Adelene's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her extended family/ her care givers in the Dogwood wing of the Grand Traverse Pavilions. A funeral service honoring Adelene will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St., Traverse City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Robert Zagore will officiate.
Burial will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at a later date.
