Adell Avis Moore, 84, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family at her side.
Adell was born on September 4, 1932 in Detroit, MI to the late Edward and Florence (Vincent) Scrine. On February 25, 1956 at Christ the King Church in Grosse Pointe Woods, she married the late William "Bill" E. Moore whom she was married to for 59 years until his passing in 2015.
Adell's biggest joy was her family and her love for children. She took pride in being an amazing homemaker and giving her children a fun and loving home. Summers spent at Camp Dearborn were a tradition for years. Adell was a passionate reader with a quick whit and positive attitude. Although dementia took hold in her 60's, she still found a way to appreciate life and to always have gratitude. It was rare to not see Adell with a smile on her face. Moving to Traverse City and being able to volunteer at the Grand Traverse Pavilions Day Care was a highlight later in life for Adell. One special memory was Adell asking to get a tattoo for her 70th birthday and being so proud to show off her beautiful rose on her ankle.
Surviving Adell are her children, William R. (Kathy Ann) of Howell, and Kathleen Moore Begin (George Hill) of Traverse City; her former son-in-law Keith Begin (Linda Wurm), grandchildren Nicholas and Kristina (Matt Laxon) Moore, and Trevor (Kahlie), and Blake (Danielle) Begin; great granddaughters, Kiersten Begin and Viviana Laxson; Brother Russell (Nancy) Scrine; and several nieces and nephews.
Adell is preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister Doris Cabrera.
Private family services will take place at a later time. The family wishes to thank the Grand Traverse Pavilions, Heartland Hospice, Traverse Manor and Chronic Care Management for all of their love and support.
