Alan R. Gray, age 85 of Lake Ann, Michigan, passed away on Sunday June 2nd, 2024. Alan was born on April 28, 1939, in Lake Ann, Michigan to the late Donald and Gladys (Wheelock) Gray.

Alan was the youngest of three children, late Ronald Gray and Donna Herman. He married Anna Lee Haiss on December 16, 1961. Alan was a teacher of 21 years, an electrical contractor, builder, and excavator. He established a grocery store in Lake Ann, and co-owned Great Lakes Water Quality Laboratory with his daughter Rebecca MacGirr. He loved to fly his float plane, hunt and fish. Alan and Anna Lee loved to travel and spend time with their family.

Alan is survived by his loving wife Anna Lee (Haiss) Gray of 62 years; children, Rebecca (Steve) MacGirr, Gregory (Deanna) Gray, Victoria (Gerald) McDonald and Scott Gray, grandchildren, Emily Bramer, Michael MacGirr, Alicia Gray, Julie Gray, Brandon Gray, Brittany McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Alexander McDonald, Morgan McDonald, Athelia Gray, Graham Gray, James (JT) Gray, and Rex Gray.

Friends are welcome to visit with Alan's family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St. Traverse City, Michigan 49684. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service honoring Alan will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
