Albert Frank Demanigold Jr.

Albert Frank deManigold Jr, 86, of Williamsburg, known to his friends as Big Al, died Thursday, June 04, 2015 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Al was born on Thursday, February 14, 1929 to the late Albert and Florence (Hayes) deManigold in Detroit. He served our country stateside as a member of the U. S. Army Signal Corps from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean Conflict and also was a member of the Naval Reserves.

Al was the owner of the East Side Machine Company in Detroit, and later worked as a supervisor for Strohs Brewery. After living in Grosse Pointe and St Clair Shores for a number of years, he retired to Traverse City, where he oversaw the building of his home on East Bay. He was a person that could fix anything and had a wonderful personality, becoming friends with everyone he came in contact with. He was a faithful member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was also a member of AMVETS.

Al is survived by his children, David of Detroit, Daniel (Donna) of Interlochen, Dennis (Susan) of Williamsburg, Donald (Dede) of Traverse City and Denise (Scott) Wesselmann of Shelby Township. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas (Keri) of Kalamazoo, Angela of Sterling Heights, Travis (Esther) Wesselmann of St. Clair Shores, Meggan and Lauren Wesselmann, of Shelby Township, Ashley Bristol of Traverse City, Paul (Geri) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a great granddaughter, Faith Wesselmann of St. Clair Shores. Al is survived as well by his children's mother, Mary deManigold of St. Clair Shores, his brother Dennis Earl deManigold of Macomb Township and many other loving family members and friends. Al was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, JoAnne Manley and Nancy Yousif.

Visitation for Al will take place Monday, June 8 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 7p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Williamsburg with Father Ray Cotter presiding. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.
