Alexandra G. Rutkowski passed away on December 22, 2014 at Munson Hospice House. A long time Detroit resident, she was a 1935 graduate of Hamtramck High School and a 1938 graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing.

Alexandra, "Elsie", married Edward J. Rutkowski in 1940 in Detroit where they resided until moving to Traverse City in 1981. After 64 years of marriage Edward preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by her daughter Alexandra (John) Leidlein, Jr. of Detroit and her son Dr. Edward (Sharon) Rutkowski of Traverse City. She had seven grandsons and thirteen great-grandchildren. John (Dee) Leidlein III (Eric and Kevin), Edward (Stacey) Leidlein (Elene and Joseph), Andrew Leidlein (Sabryn, Holden, and Landon), Brian (Debbie) Leidlein (Emily, James and Alexa), Edward (Leslie) Rutkowski (Simon and Basil), Thomas Rutkowski (deceased), David (Karen) Rutkowski (Jack) and great-great granddaughter Lily.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, from 10 am to 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Traverse City followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
