Alice Neva Casto died August 29, 2020 at MMC with family at her side.
Alice was born September 16, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late David R. and Helen (Sells) Brightbill. On June 10, 1950 Alice married the late Dale L. Casto in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they raised 3 children. Alice and Dale were married 43 years before his passing in 1993. In 1986 Dale and Alice moved to the area to be closer to their family.
In her spare time Alice enjoyed doing needlework, reading and her flowers. Alice was past state chairman and regent local chapter for the Job Winslow Chapter of the D.A.R. Above all else, Alice cherished her children grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Dale, siblings Helen Gifford, Barbara Houston, David Brightbill and Patricia Balbo.
Alice is survived by son Dale "Duke" (Kathy) Casto, daughter Gale (Dan) Bristol, Jr. and daughter Sue Casto, Grandchildren, Angela (Dan) Mikowski, Jennifer Casto, Charles (Crystal) Casto, Amy (Jason) Nagley, Travis (Heather) Horn, Amanda Horn, and Charles (Becky) Fahey-Horn, and Great-Grandchildren Keaton, D.J., Devon, Cole, Faith, Katelyn, Matthew, Kendrik, Charlotte and Barrett, and her only surviving sister, Starr Barrett, along with many special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 11:30am at Linwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice's memory may be directed to the Michigan State Troopers Assistance Fund (1715 Abbey Road, Suite B East Lansing, MI 48823) or the Daughters of the American Revolution (P.O. Box 98286, Washington, D.C. 20090).
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Munson Medical Center ER, ICU, A-7 and D5 for their compassionate care, and guidance to the family and Alice during some of their most difficult times.
