Alice Marie Chouinard, age 91, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Alice was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a strong woman; the true iron horse of the family. Throughout the many hardships she faced during her life, she always stepped up to the plate, kept a smile on her face, and remained kind. She enjoyed her job at the Traverse City Airport working security.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents: John & Orpha (Lewis) Eddleman; husband, Lawrence "Slim" Chouinard; daughters: Rosalie Trafford, Lois Trafford, Shermay Pickard; and son-in-law, Richard Seaberg.

She is survived by her children: Julie Seaberg, Sandy (Mike) Oestrike, Linda (Rodney) Chouinard, Norman Pickard; many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and step-children; siblings: Dean Eddleman, Marge Hundley, and Frances Heiges.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City. The family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.– 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. A light dinner will follow at the VFW Cherry Post 2780. Memorial contributions may be given to the family of Alice towards funeral expenses.
