Alice Ellen Houdek (Mooney)

HOUDEK, ALICE ELLEN (MOONEY): 9/16/1934-8/2/2023.
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by many family members and friends and most especially her beloved husband Walter. Remembered by her children Stephen (Mary), Karen (Gerry) and Brent. Along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Alice was a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Good Harbor, Michigan, teaching Sunday School and a member of the Ladies Aid. Reading books and finding treasures at garage sales were some of her favorite activities. She especially enjoyed the peace and tranquility of Pyramid Point, looking out her living room window to see the wildlife; Deer feeding at the salt blocks and Turkeys feeding in her yard. Her favorite activity was watching the numerous hummingbirds she fed in the summer months. Alice spent her recent years in Lady Lake Florida.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 19th 1 pm, with visitation beginning at Noon, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Good Harbor, 2943 S. Manitou Trail, Cedar, MI 49621, with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. Burial will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
