Alice Lorraine Miller, 79, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home. Alice was born on January 10, 1937 in St. Louis, Michigan to the Albert and Bessie (Boadway) Miller. She was married to Larry Miller on February 5, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. Alice was a devoted member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was very artistic painting, doing various crafts and playing the piano. She always enjoyed talking about politics and social issues. She loved to go antiquing, spending winters in sunny Arizona. Above all spending time with her family was Alice's greatest joy.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Larry, four sons and two daughters; Randy (Ellen) Miller, Jackie (Allen) Muma, Lisa Colpean, Blake (Wendy) Miller, Jeff (Lynn) Miller and Eric (Diana) Miller, six grandchildren; Brandon, Jeramine, Amy, Zack, Alexis and Hope, as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Audrey (John) Durst and a brother, Michael (Carolyn) Miller.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Miller, a son-in-law, Ed Colpean and two brothers; Donald Miller and George Miller.
Friends are welcome to visit with Alice's family from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visiting one hour prior, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1025 S. Union Street, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Stachnik will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge, Michigan.
