Alice Marie Weyand. 84. of Traverse City passed away at home on November 30, 2022. Alice was born in Glens Falls, NY on June 14, 1938 to the late Helen (Kellen) and Wilbur Turner.
Kind, warm, caring, and compassionate. Alice touched many lives. She was a Registered Nurse having earned her nursing diploma from St. Peter's College of Nursing in Albany, NY. Alice worked at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston), Jackson Memorial Hospital (Miami), Summit Hospital (NJ), Beaumont Hospital (Ml), and finally as an operating room nurse at Munson Medical Center.
An avid skier, Alice took a year off from nursing in 1965 to ski in Aspen where she met her future husband, Viktor. Over the years, Alice worked for her husband's incentive travel company assisting and caring for literally thousands of travelers around the globe.
A long-time member of the Traverse City Country Club and a passionate golfer, Alice won both the Women's Club Championship and Senior Women's Club Championship multiple times.
Devout in her Catholic faith, Alice was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Alice is survived by her husband, Viktor, her sister-in-law, Maxi Neugebauer and her cousins Kate and Chris Moffat. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Wilbur Turner and her brother, John Turner.
A Funeral Mass Honoring Alice will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Christ The King Catholic Church at 3pm. Fr. Jarvis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Diocese of Gaylord Retired Priest Fund
