Allan Keith Noonan

Allan Keith Noonan, 67, of Empire passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. Allan was born on April 10, 1947 in Traverse City to the late Charles and Alice (Schmidt) Noonan, Jr. He married his high school sweetheart Carol Miller on July 19, 1969. Allan graduated from Glen Lake High School in 1965. He had been employed with Burwood Products and later Maple Valley Pallet. Most recently Allan was a self employed handyman, he helped many people maintain their property throughout Leelanau County. Allan loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He was great at knowing the different species of plants and trees. He loved his fury friends, over the course of the years he had many pets including wildlife. His most recent dog and companion was "Bubby". Another one of Allan's favorite pastimes was building rustic cedar furniture. Above all Allan had no greater joy then spending time with his family and friends.

Allan is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol, a daughter, Michelle (Dave) Reinke, a son, Mark (Jennifer) Noonan, six grandchildren; Elizabeth, David, Brittany, Devin, Alexis and Cayla, a great-grandson, Cameron and a great-granddaughter on the way. Also surviving is his brother, Tim (Dee) Noonan, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service honoring Allan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Stachnik will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m.
