Amy Lee Baker

Amy Lee Baker (Gosling) passed away May 9, 2014 at the age of 49. Amy will be known for dedication to her children (Jennie, Brendan and Mollie) and as a devoted wife to her husband Michael. She will be deeply missed by everyone that was touched by her.
Amy was born on December 2, 1964 in Harbor City, California to Art Gosling and Betty (Smith) Gosling.
Amy is survived by her husband of 21 years and their three children. She is also survived by her parents and siblings; Doug (Mary), Jenny Hohner (Joe), Tara Gosling (Ken), Justin (Alywn) and Matthew (Shannon) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Amy grew up in an extremely active family and the early days of her life revolved exploring the world with her siblings. This active childhood lead to her having a lifelong passion around aerobic activities including running and biking. Starting in junior high, she was an extremely competitive runner and participated in numerous races ranging from local 5k's to numerous marathons including Boston, New York, Chicago and The Bayshore Marathon.
In addition, Amy was an avid biker who spent many hours each summer biking the hills of Leelanau County with her dad and other family members. Several times in her younger days, she participated in the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRIA).
Over the past several years, she turned her attention to the triathlons and regularly completed in local triathlons with her husband and children. Amy competed in every M-22 Challenge since inception as well as the Gosling Farm Triathlon held each summer as a competition with her siblings, other family members and friends.
Another passion of Amy's was jewelry and she devoted numerous hours in designing and making earrings, necklaces and bracelets. She sold her jewelry at various craft shows throughout northern Michigan as well as at the Red Dresser in Traverse City.
Amy was a fixture at The Pathfinder School serving in various volunteer capacities and was known for her party plan skills that kept adults and children entertained through activities such as scavenger hunts and Easter egg hunts. Her weekly pizza lunch cookies will be missed by facility and students.
The visitation will be held at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on May 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.. A private service will scheduled at a later date.
