Amy Louise Potter, 63, of Williamsburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at her home. Amy Fischer was born on December 26, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Dean and Patricia (Siverson) Fischer. She married Richard A. Potter, Jr., on April 12, 1975, in Elks Rapids, Michigan. Amy was a 1974 graduate of Traverse City Senior High School. She loved Jesus, Israel, prophecy., and traditional gospel music. Amy had a beautiful alto voice and was an avid reader. She loved being outside enjoying the sunshine and water. Amy was a very talented artist, baker, and cook. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor; wonderful intelligence; and her kindness to all. She was a woman of deep prayer and witnessed God answer many prayers for her loved ones and herself.
Amy is survived by her husband Richard A. Potter, Jr.; her beloved cousin Mat (Terri) Wellnitz; a step-mother Annie Fischer; sisters Gretchen Ohmann and Jody Fischer. Also surviving are a sister-in-law Tamara Kukuczka; brothers-in-law Randy Potter and Mark Potter; nieces Jade Kukuczka and Megan Ohmann; nephews Richard Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Wyatt Potter; and special friends Candace (Thomas) Shield; Abraham (Rachel) Shield and family; and Eliezer (Bina) Rechtshafer and family.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Richard Potter, Sr.; mother-in-law Evelyn Potter; sister-in-law Natalie Potter; and a beloved niece Christian Potter.
A funeral service honoring Amy will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Mat Wellnitz will officiate.
Burial will follow in Peninsula Township Cemetery.
