Andrea J. Lather

Andrea Jean Lather, 54, of Traverse City passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 after a courageous 17 year battle with breast cancer. Andrea was born on April 13, 1962 in Traverse City to the late Edward and Margaret "Peg" (Newberry) Lather. She was a talented graphic designer. Over the course of her career Andrea had been employed with; The Century Group, Nelson Design Group, Watson Swope Advertising, McConnell & Associates and most recently in the Design Department at Columbia College in Chicago. Andrea loved her cats, she had many over the years. Among her other interests; she enjoyed print making, photograph, cooking, gardening, mushrooming, walks along the lake shore collecting beach glass, watching classic films and the Detroit Red Wings.

Andrea would like to be remembered as someone who brought joy into people's lives.

Andrea is survived her loving and supportive life partner; Douglas Perry, two sisters; Linda (Ron) Faino and Julie (Nathan) Nitz. As well as, a niece, Brenda Leonard and her very best friend, Linda (Dan) Heisner.

She was preceded in death by grandparents; Jack and Irene Newberry.

A Celebration of Andrea's Life will take place at 3:00 p.m., with visiting one hour prior, on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan, 49684. Dear friend, Chris Willman will officiate.
