Angie Nixon, 89, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Born August 16, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Sadie Salem. Angie graduated from Flint Northern High School in the class of 1953, and that same year began working as a secretary at Buick Motor Division, GMC, where she met Don Nixon, whom she married on May 20, 1962. In 1968, she left Buick to become a full-time wife and mother to their son, Greg.

Angie was a very loving and generous person who spent many years volunteering in several capacities and especially enjoyed time spent with the elderly. She had a lifelong love of gardening and was known for her outstanding flower gardens. She and Don very much enjoyed traveling, and did so often.

Her greatest loves in life were her husband, son, and grandchildren: Matthew, Brett, Mia, and Allie.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harry and Fred; and sisters, Lourice and Louise and husband Don.

A memorial reception for Angie will be held on Friday, August 22nd at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 3:00pm-5:00pm. All are welcome.

Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, and cremation has taken place.
