Anita Louise Goepfrich

Anita Louise (Martin) Goepfrich, 85, of Williamsburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Anita was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Charles and Lucille Martin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home.

Anita and her husband, Leo R. Goepfrich, raised their family in Trenton, Michigan, where she also worked part-time in the Loan Department at People’s Bank and Trust, before relocating to Crete, Illinois. Upon Leo’s retirement, Anita and Leo embarked on an adventure that would last 20 years, traveling the country full-time in their RV. They enjoyed discovering new places and making countless memories along the way, traveling through Alaska, Arizona, Florida, and many other states. As part of their RV travels, they wintered in Davenport, Florida, at Deercreek RV Resort and summered in Williamsburg, Michigan, at Traverse Bay RV Resort. Eventually, they put down permanent roots in Williamsburg, where they built a beautiful home together.

Anita will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Leo R. Goepfrich; her daughter, Tracy L. (Goepfrich) Chinavare and her husband, Kevin; her son, Robert A. Goepfrich; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Goepfrich; her grandchildren, Heather (Pete) Keen, Krista (Michael) Persha, Christopher (Jordan) Goepfrich, and Patrick (Madilyn) Goepfrich; and her six great-grandchildren.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Martin; and her siblings, Cheri (Martin) Rucanno, Donald Martin, and Richard Martin.

Anita and Leo shared a deep and lasting love and a life filled with adventure, laughter, and memories. Their years together, from raising their family to traveling the country in their RV, were a testament to the life they built side by side. Anita loved staying connected to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished being part of their lives, both in the everyday moments and the special ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family always.

Anita will lie in state on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 11:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:15 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Interment Oakwood Catholic Cemetery in Traverse City.
