September 24, 1924 - August 30, 2018

Heaven gained our angel, Ann Magdaline (Henigan) Bossingham, on August 30, 2018. Ann passed away in her home holding the hand of her beloved husband of 71 years Sam, surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on September 24, 1924 in Buckley, Michigan to the late Homer and Laura (Hammer) Henigan. In 1947, she married Samuel Bossingham of Traverse City, and together they raised 6 children. To their deep sorrow, they lost their second son, Jeffrey, to leukemia.

Ann was a tireless and exceptional homemaker; she enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing and reading. Everything she touched she made beautiful – her home, garden, flowers, and the lives of those around her. Her generosity extended beyond her family to anyone in need, whether coffee and kindness, a meal or place to live. Her love was infinite and unconditional. Ann was warm and welcoming; she made everyone who met her feel special and loved.

Beautiful inside and out, Ann was a source of wisdom and security; a combination of benevolence and playfulness, peace and forgiveness with an easy laugh and an Irish twinkle in her eye. Like her farm, Ann tended, cultivated, and grew a legacy of love for generations to come.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Samuel Bossingham; children Andrea (Rodney) Sheffield, Sammie Burgess, Samuel Joseph (Maria) Bossingham, Lisa (Chet) Salisbury, and Kevin Jay Bossingham; grandchildren Stephanie (Charlie) Simmons, Ryan Sheffield, Melissa Burgess, Amber Anderson, Errica Burgess, Erica (Steve) McMillin, Seth (Jess) Bossingham, Anna (Kyle) Macijewski, Ben (Mary Kathryn) Eckler, Jade (Trevino) Brings Plenty, Calvin Bossingham, Casey Bossingham, and Emily Bossingham; along with 27 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

At her request, a private service has been held for family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Ann's name at Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.

A special thank you to her grand daughters Melissa, Amber, and Errica for their loving devotion and care; her nephew Dan Henigan for his heartfelt eulogy; Father Gerald of Saint Marys of Hannah; the teams at Heartland Hospice and Chronic Care for their continuous care and kindness; and the many prayers from family and friends.

She was the heart of our family, and will be missed deeply by all.
