TRAVERSE CITY- Anne C. Chambers, 78, of Henderson, N.C., died Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2012. Born April 17, 1934, in Henderson, N.C. , she was the daughter of the late Flemming B. and Alma L. Currin of N.C.
She enjoyed attending Bay Pointe Community Church and felt welcomed there. The Prayer Team has whispered many prayers and they were answered!!. Mother was filled with a spirit of joy that will eternally be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends; Thank You for your prayer cards, scripture cards, and continued prayers.
Anne moved to Interlochen, MI in 2011, where her daughter Barbara Ann (Jerry;and granddaughter;Lillian) Klinetop call home. Anne has truly enjoyed life "Up North" ; Her time as a "fudgy" was spent watching her granddaughter play hockey for the North Stars U-16 Girls Travel Team (Goalie); weekly lunches at G.T. Pie Co; Crystal Mountain Spa visits and local Lake Michigan day trips in the most beautiful place in America, ending the day with Moomers Cherry Jubilees ice cream.
Anne participated in the Northwestern Michigan Fair; enjoying bingo and earning her own bragging rights with a Blue, Red, and two White Ribbons; leaving priceless memories of three generations of participation for her family and friends.
Her gentle heart and kind spirit will be sorely missed. A lifelong supporter of "Feed the Children"; contributing to her grandchild's mission trip to Haiti,and most recent in June she helped keep the bakers awake while baking for the 20th NC Father Fred Ride; I will miss my mom, our journey was our own, filled with treasured memories, thank you mom.
She is survived by her supportive family; daughter, Barbara Ann (Jerry) Klinetop; granddaughters, Lillian Ann Klinetop, of Interlochen, Michigan, and Virginia A.Lovell, of N.C.; son, Larry N.Chambers, of Beaverton, OR; her longtime friend Virginia Lovell, of N.N., VA; along with many nieces and nephews across the globe.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Garland L.Chambers; daughter, Alma G. Lovell; brother F.B.Flemming; sister, Jane C.Kuhn; and daughter-in-law; Gladys W. Chambers.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A special tribute will take place at 4:00 pm for Alma G. Lowell who passed away this past December by the Cherryland VFW Post #2780 for her service as a member of the United States Army.
