Ann Chinn

Ottilie "Ann" Chinn, 96, of Traverse City passed away May 15, 2023.

Ann was born on August 19, 1926 in Detroit to the late Alfred Otto and Florence (Burgy) Beutler.

On April 22, 1960, Ann married Orson Kenneth Chinn in Witchita Falls, TX.

Ann served our country honorably in the United States Air Force for nine years as a computer technologist. Prior to her service she earned her horticulture degree and worked as a florist. Her true passion was teaching and she taught 2nd grade in Kingsley for over 20 years.

Ann loved to travel and was blessed to visit every continent except Antarctica and visited over 90 countries. She loved to help and participate with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy. She loved to give back to her community and had a special place in her heart for AC Paws and the Cherryland Humane Society and to The Unitarian Universalist Church of Grand Traverse

Her greatest gifts in life were her two grand daughters Nellya and Taylin. She loved traveling with them and going to all their activities while they were growing up.

She is survived by her daughter Leslie, grand daughters Nellya and Taylin and her two furry pals Lulu and Desi.

The family will celebrate Ann's life with a service on June 17, 2023 at 2 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church.
