Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Ann Susan White, 81, died January 18, 2016 at her home in Elk Rapids, MI.

Ann was born in Detroit, MI on April 28, 1934, one of six children born to the late Roy C. and Helen G. Gauthier Liedel. On August 17, 1957, she married Thomas E. White, her loving husband of 58 years. After raising their seven children, Ann directed the Grand Traverse Area Retired Senior Volunteer Program for 18 years, retiring in 1995. She continued as an active RSVP volunteer both in Traverse City and in Palm City, FL, where she and her husband wintered.

Ann will be remembered for her devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband Tom; her two daughters: Susan (Steve) Crumb, Mokena, IL, Julia Messingschlager, Elk Rapids; her five sons: David (Amy) White, Maple City, Daniel (Rhonda) White, Traverse City, Peter (Carrie) White, Traverse City, Ronald (Victoria) White, Stuart, FL, James White, Grand Rapids; her sisters: Elaine Madigan, Wixom, MI, Jane Pate, Whitmore Lake, MI; her brothers: James Liedel, Dallas, TX, William Liedel, Northville, MI, Donald Liedel, Portland, OR; and her nineteen grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme, MI, with Fr. Cotter as celebrant. Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home will provide a Cremation Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kewadin, MI this spring.
