Anne Lowell Graves Gahn, 83, of Traverse City, MI, died peacefully on December 17, 2015 at Cherry Hill Haven. The cause was dementia.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11am, with visitation beginning at 10am, and light lunch following the service.
Anne was born to Lawrence and Josephine Graves on June 7, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Faulkner School for Girls, attended Oberlin College and earned a nursing degree from Northwestern University. She worked as a nurse on the Santa Fe Railroad and at Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Chicago. She moved to Traverse City in 1962 to teach obstetric/pediatric nursing at Northwestern Michigan College. In 1969, Anne married Adam Joseph Gahn, III.
Anne had a passion for a genealogy and was a longtime, tireless volunteer with blood donation services, Cherry Festival, Grand Traverse Governmental Center and bookkeeper at her church, Grace Episcopal.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother, father and brothers Robert and John.
She is survived by her husband Adam of Traverse City, son Paul (Gina Cordell) and grandson Ellis Nelson Cordell Gahn of Memphis, TN.
