Anne M. O'Connell

TRAVERSE CITY – Anne O'Connell, 86, passed away peacefully early Christmas morning. Anne was born on February 8, 1928 to the late Carolyn and Vincent Nanry in Jackson, Michigan. She fell in love with Jerry O'Connell and they married on October 3, 1953.
Anne and Jerry moved to Traverse City in the late 50s to work and raise their family. Anne worked at Milliken's department store for 15 years, and retired from her job as head cashier in 1990.
Anne was an active volunteer at Immaculate Conception Church where she assisted with the funeral lunch program, food pantry and the annual holiday bazaar. She was also a member of St. Patrick's Circle.
Anne is survived by daughters Kathleen (Rodney) Lofquist, Mimi O'Connell (Bill Wampler), Brigid (Bart) Wilson, son Jerry O'Connell (Shelly Brunette) and grandchildren Haydn and Reiley Wilson.
Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry and an infant son, Michael.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 5, 2015 at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Church with Father James Haden Officiating, interment at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Jude's Children Research Hospital or Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools.
