Annette Marie Johnston, age 74, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully in the middle of January 2026. Annette was born on November 15, 1951, in Traverse City. The beloved daughter of Raymond Johnston; sister of Lisa (Howard) Waite, Tamara (Joe) Ganci, Diane (Stuart) Stevenson, Tafney (Kenny) Kastner, Cynthia McDonnell and Marsha Barrett.
Annette was best known for her musical, artistic talents and singing ability. She was self-taught with most stringed instruments. She and her sisters were vocally coached by her greatly loved step-mother, Dixie Aldrich.
Annette had a love for learning and teaching. She was well travelled and studied abroad. Annette was known to all as an adventurous soul and she was curious about everything. While she started off life with a difficult childhood, she ended her life as tough and self-assured with a wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Courtney and Catherine Johnston, her father, Raymond, and step-mother, Dixie Aldrich.
Annette's biological mother, Suzanne McAtee still lives and resides in Traverse City.
In accordance with Annette's wishes cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to the American Diabetes Association.
