Annette Julie Sobiech

Traverse City - Annette Julie Sobiech, 59, of Traverse City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 9, 2014 after a sudden illness. Annette was born in Detroit, on September 23, 1954 to her parents, the late Arthur and Mary (Michalak) Lewandowski. She attended Marion High School in Detroit and graduated from Warren High School in 1972. After starting a family in Detroit, Annette moved to Hillsdale where she raised her three children. She married her husband David Sobiech on December 24, 1994. The couple lived in Hillsdale and Albion, Michigan and later moved to Traverse City in 1999. Annette worked as a school secretary at Hillsdale Community Schools, the guest teacher coordinator at TCAPS, and superintendent's secretary at Kingsley Area Schools prior to her retirement in 2010. She continued to serve children and the Lord as secretary of Trinity Lutheran School from 2010 until her untimely passing.

Annette will be remembered for the love, devotion, and warmth she gave to her family, friends and the many lives she touched devoting her life to the education of children. Everything she did in life was done with a beauty, style, grace and class that belied her selflessness, compassion, and efficient competency. She strived to live her life as Jesus taught us, and was a shining instrument of God's love on earth. She loved to entertain family and friends. She loved music and enjoyed teaching local theater to her friends and students. She was loved and adored and will be missed dearly by her husband, children and her treasured grandchildren who knew her best as their "Nettie".

She is survived by her husband David; daughter Heather (Brad) Felix; sons Aaron (Lisa) Tucker and Nicholas (Ellie) Tucker; sisters Marie (Clark) Phelps, Chris (Mike) Patalan and Elizabeth (John) Knisely); brothers Arthur (Kaye) Lewandowski Jr and John (Irena) Lewandowski; grandchildren Claire and Adam Felix, Isla and Nina Tucker, and Joel and Zachary Tucker.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth St. Traverse City, MI. and a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 12:00pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 1003 South Maple St., Traverse City, MI.,
