Annie M. Carroll, 84, of Traverse City and formerly of Morley, passed away April 3, 2015, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Annie was born in Hammond, LA on March 23, 1931, to Dominik and Annie (Lipoma) Schillace.
She raised her children and lived in Morley, MI, for 47 years before moving to Traverse City, MI, to live with family later in life. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, especially rummy, crafts, gardening, and crocheting. She had a big heart and was quick witted with comebacks to any comment. The kids would often tease that they were the favorite child and she would exclaim that she has five favorites and often include anyone else in the room.
She is survived by her five children, Steve (Cathy McLean) Carroll of Montgomery, TX; Patsy (Mike) Westra, of Byron Center, MI; Barb Carroll of Lewisville, TX; Jim (Sara Kopriva) Carroll, of Traverse City, MI; and Bruce (Mary) Carroll of Kent City, MI; her grandchildren, Dana (Russell) Elder, Andy Carroll, and Heather Carroll, sister, Katie Varisco of Louisiana, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, bothers, Joe Schillace and Felix Schillace, and sister Jennie Ciampa.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Pavilions (Evergreen Cottage, Adult Day, and Birch Pavilion) that took such great care for her and who she loved dearly.
A memorial service celebrating Annie's life will take place on June 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 18669 W M-46, Howard City, MI.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions or Cherryland Humane Society.
